Are you wondering

What toWear at your Photo Shoot?

Start by asking yourself:
How do I want to feel the day of my session?
• What styles make me feel most like myself?
• What colors light me up?

As your South Shore Photographer, I’m here to capture your love, connection, fun, and play. I want your photo shoot to be an amazing experience from start to finish!

Remember: YOU and your beautiful family are the stars of the show!

Let’s dive into a few easy tips and suggestions to help you choose what to wear — and what to skip — for your photos.

COMFORT FIRST:

If you feel good, you’ll shine even brighter!

Choose outfits that feel soft, breathable, and easy to move in. Skip anything too tight, scratchy, or fussy — those little distractions can sneak into your photos without you even realizing it.

Pro Tip: If you’re wearing something brand new, don’t forget to snip off those pesky tags beforehand!

COLORS:

Coordinated Outfits:

Think harmonious colors, like a soft palette of auburn, cream, light brown and dusty blue. Coordinated outfits feel natural, relaxed, and look gorgeous together.

Neutrals:

Earthy tones, soft neutrals, and muted hues tend to photograph like a dream and will continue to look beautiful through the years.

Matchy-Matchy:

Wearing identical outfits for the entire family? Cute for the 90s, and was trending back then. I recommend avoiding the matchy-matchy look for everyone in your group.

Combination of Both:

A mix of matchy-matchy plus coordinated outfits creates a nice blend of both. So sweet and cohesive!

Pro Tip: Let your little ones help choose their outfits! It gets them excited and feeling like part of the magic.

STYLE:

Dresses:
Yes! Dresses flow so naturally, especially on a windy day, and look stunning in photos. There are so many styles to choose from to fit your personality.

When in doubt: Go classic over trendy.
Simple, beautiful pieces — soft dresses, cozy sweaters, comfy jeans — these will hold the test of time when you look back 25 years from now.

Casual Vibes:

If cozy jeans and barefoot-joy are more your speed, go for it. Authenticity is always in style.

NEWBORNS:

For your sweet new arrival, simple is best.

A well-fitted onesie, a snug swaddle, or just that beautiful birthday suit — that’s all you need for tender, natural newborn photos.

COLLEGIATE PRIDE:

Seniors, if you want to represent your future university with a logo or sweatshirt, let’s do it! Those moments are so special.

SHOES:

Your shoes (or bare toes!) will peek into your photos more than you might think. Choose footwear that’s clean, comfortable, and coordinates with your outfit.

And when we hit the beach? Barefoot is absolutely perfect.

Indoor photos often look even sweeter without shoes — if you opt for socks, just give them a quick once-over to make sure they’re in good shape!

A FEW THINGS TO AVOID:

• Neon colors
• Big company logos
• Loud, graphic patterns
• Matchy-matchy look for everyone in your group

They tend to distract from the magic we’re creating together.

I hope these little tips and suggestions help you feel more confident and excited about your upcoming session.  I truly can’t wait to work with you!
