Prep Guide
Mistletoe Acres Tree Farm Minis

Hi friends,
Thank you again for signing up for minis! To help make your Tree Farm Mini a huge success, grab a coffee, settle in, and please read your Prep Guide thoroughly.

Parking:
Park in the lot at:
254 Whitman Street
East Bridgewater, MA 02333

This is the lot near the big red event barn set back from the road.

Arrive at least 15-minutes early:
This allows time to park and walk. Please be “in-the-wings” and ready since your session is only 10-minutes long. Late arrivals may not have the full 10 images in their final gallery.

Where to meet me:
***THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART! PLEASE CAREFULLY FOLLOW MY DIRECTIONS BELOW.***

Weather:
If it's sprinkling or raining lightly, without heavy wind, we will still photograph. You may want to wear rain gear. You’re welcome to use my clear umbrellas during your session. Did you know, full cloud coverage produces some of the most beautiful images? If the forecast calls for a combination of high winds and rain together, we will reschedule as soon as possible.

Bathrooms:
There are no bathroom facilities at the tree farm. Please plan accordingly.

Wardrobe guidance / recommendations:

You’re welcome to wear whatever you’d like. I’m happy to offer some suggestions and recommendations. First and foremost go for comfort! Think of how you want your outfits to look next to all the Christmas trees. For the mama’s and little girls, wearing a mid-length to full-length maxi dress adds movement and softness.

Fall Theme:
Coordinated Fall colored earth tones and neutrals are timeless. Add a subtle pattern or two and some textures (ex: knitted sweater / corduroy). Add one pop of color. Layer up if chilly and bring rain gear if needed.
Avoid matching outfits, a lot of solid green (because tree farm), loud patterns like strong plaid, neon colors, company logos, and sports logos.
Footwear: Tan, brown, or black casual shoes/boots will look best. Avoid: bright colored shoes, stiletto heels

Holiday Theme:
Coordinated Holiday colors such as jewel tones look festive and bright. Add a subtle pattern or two and some textures (ex: knitted sweater / corduroy). Layer up if chilly and bring rain gear if needed.
Avoid: a lot of solid green (because tree farm), loud patterns like strong plaid, neon colors, company logos, and sports logos.
Footwear: Tan, brown, or black casual shoes will look best. Avoid: white sneakers, stiletto heels

Personal items:
Keep pockets empty so no items like cell phones or wallets are showing as they distract from the final image. Remove watches and hair ties from wrists.
Hair:
Hair-down vs. hair-up looks softer and adds nice movement especially if we have a little breeze.
Transition eye glasses:
These are the lenses that turn dark when outside. If worn, they will look dark in your photos. You may want to consider wearing a non-transition pair of glasses, if available.

What to Bring:

Water, dry snacks, a white or subtle neutral colored blanket to sit on.

Tips for Preparing Your Kids:

Photographing kids is one of my specialties. I love capturing their genuine personalities.  Here are a few suggestions.
• Make sure your kids are fed and not overly tired.
• Avoid parties and heavy activities the day of your session.
• Consider making it a "yes day" with no raised voices or stern "no's", (unless it's a safety issue, of course).
• Avoid temporary tattoos!
• Please do not practice smiling ahead of time. A natural and authentic smile always wins over a forced smile. Not only are your kids allowed to wiggle, giggle, and be silly: it’s encouraged!

Let’s talk noses: Have your kids blow their nose and wipe right before your session. Check for dried boogies around their nose and full face, yes, check everywhere! Have a wet wipe ready if needed. “How do you get a tissue to dance?” “Blow a little boogie in it!” 🎵 🤣

During your Session:

Your session experience will be connected and fun with no stiff poses or forced smiles!  Not sure how to pose? I will gently guide you every step of the way with a mix of traditional to life-style candids.

After your session:

Keep an eye on your email. In approximately 3 weeks, ~November 2, 2026, your fully edited, watermarked, high-resolution digital images will be sent to your email address in a secure gallery link. From your gallery, you will choose three (3) out of 10 images to download. You will have the convenient option to purchase additional digitals and print products directly from your gallery. All watermarks will be removed.

Add-on Digitals:

$50 each
$175 for all
All watermarks will be removed.

Add-on Professional Print Products:

You have the convenient option to purchase beautiful print products directly from your gallery: CANVASES, METAL PRINTS, and PRINTS. Clients love the quality of these products as they are made from a professional print lab. Print orders will be mailed directly to you.

I will request a signed Model Release (optional):
A Model Release helps other families to see my work. I greatly appreciate you signing as it allows me to post your beautiful images on my website and social media. Names are never used. And of course, I would never post your images without your permission.
